Maldives eSIM: a fixed pack is far cheaper
A Maldives trip is often a honeymoon or a short resort stay on one island, and most resorts have Wi-Fi, so many people only need data for transfers, the boat and calling family. In our 22 October 2026 check the Maldives was the most expensive destination in our list at Holafly: 33.90 dollars for three days and 55.50 for a week.
Airalo offered one local pack: 20 GB valid for 30 days at 40 dollars on the Dhiraagu network. For a week in a resort with Wi-Fi, 20 GB covers most couples and saves over 15 dollars against a Holafly unlimited week. Remote workers uploading large files may still need unlimited despite the price, or the resort Wi-Fi.
